Admission Criteria

Admission requirements for Pediatrics and child Health Specialty Certificate Program

A candidate should fulfill the following requirements

  1. The candidate should graduate from nationally/internationally recognized/accredited medical school by doctor of medicine or Be registered and licensed to practice medicine by the relevant authority in Ethiopia.
  2. The candidate should get a pass mark from national residency matching exam and assigned to the university of Gondar college of medicine and health sciences.
  3. Applicants of foreign citizen will be managed by university legislation
  4. The candidate should appreciate the department of pediatrics and accept the hardship

and Be in a good state of mental and physical health.

    • Medical degree (MD) degree with good academic standard from a recognized university.
    • Satisfactory completion of internship in the teaching hospitals of the faculty of medicine or equivalent and registration as a general medical practitioner with the FMOH.

Admission Criteria

Academic Requirement

  • The candidate must have successfully completed his/her basic medical training and graduated with an MD degree or its equivalent with successful completion of an internship
  • Candidates graduated from other countries must approve their degree at FMHACA that their degree is equivalent to the Ethiopian MD degree.
  • The candidate must have passed the Ethiopian Medical Licensing Exam  (EMLE) and participate in the  Ethiopian National Residency Matching Program (NRMP)
  • Have passed the selection interview (if exists)

 

Non-Academic Requirement

  • The candidate should be in acceptable mental and physical state

Provide a letter from a sponsoring organization stating that the candidate can join a full-time training program for the entire period of the program or a document attesting to his/her capability of self-support.

Admission Criteria

Admission criteria for Residency in psychiatry 

    • The candidate should be a holder of a degree of Doctor of Medicine from a recognized university/college.
    • The candidate must be a registered general practitioner by the Federal Ministry of Health of Ethiopia.
    • The candidate must pass the national entrance written examination and interview.
    • Foreign applicants must hold a degree of Doctor of Medicine, must produce their professional license, and a letter of good standing from their local accreditation body.
    • Admission of foreign applicants shall be governed by the legislation of the University/College.
